Our Story

Made from scratch, with a whole lot of love.

The Jam Boutique started with a surplus of backyard garden and orchard fruit and grew into something I never expected — a little business built on fruit, patience, and the belief that homemade is always better.

It Started with a Surplus of Backyard Fruit

About 13 years ago I decided to try my hand at a backyard garden - with a dream of one day being able to grow the majority of fruits and vegetables to feed my family. Once I started having success with gardening I realized I had a surplus of fruit that I wasn't sure what to do with. My children were young at the time and loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so I decided to start there - making my own custom jams at home. They loved them and fast forward a few years -My kids can't even remember a time they ate store bought jam. I've spent the past couple of years perfecting my recipes, planting more fruit trees and never turning down a bag of home grown fruit from a neighbor to try testing out a new jam recipe.

I started giving my jam away to friends, family and teachers - people asked for more; then strangers started asking where they could buy them! That's when I realized this little hobby might be something more than just feeding my family. In early 2025, I decided to sell my jams and The Jam Boutique was created.

The Jam Boutique is currently selling locally within El Dorado Hills, to neighbors and through marketplace online. Find us at the William Brooks School garden for samples and to purchase in person.

What We Stand For

Local & Seasonal

I pick the majority of my fruit from my backyard garden and orchard. When something is in season, I make it. When it's not, I don't.

Small-Batch Always

Every batch is made in my home kitchen, in quantities small enough that I can give each jar my full attention. No shortcuts, ever.

Real Ingredients Only

Fruit, sugar, lemon juice, and sometimes a little something special. No artificial preservatives, no fillers, no shortcuts.

Made with Joy

I genuinely love what I do. I hope that comes through in every jar — because I think you can taste the difference when something is made with care.

How Every Jar Gets Made

From farm to jar — here's what goes into every batch.

01

Choosing the Fruit

Every batch starts in the backyard, handpicked by myself and children. When unavailable in my backyard I source local organic fruit.  We look for fruit at peak ripeness — the kind that smells incredible before you even taste it.

02

Preparing the Batch

I wash, hull, pit, or slice everything by hand. No machines, no shortcuts. This is the part that takes the longest, and the part I love most.

03

Slow-Cooking with Care

Each batch is cooked low and slow, stirred by hand, and tested for set the old-fashioned way — a spoonful on a cold plate. I don't rush this step.

04

Jarring & Sealing

Hot jars, proper seals, and a water bath to make it shelf-stable. Every jar is checked before it leaves my kitchen.
